Rima Alhamedd is a Syrian filmmaker and producer, who studied fine art and photography in various art schools in Sweden. She has participated in several film project development and production training courses with prominent filmmakers in the MENA region. 

She worked in different roles in the documentary film trilogy “On the Edge of Life” that got many awards and screened in various prestigious film festivals around the world. She co-directed with Yaser Kassab "On the Edge of Life - 2017" premiered at the Cinema du Reel festival in Paris, Pomipdou center, and gained the award for Best First Film. 

She worked as an editor for the film "I Have Seen Nothing, I Have Seen All - 2019". Which got Best short documentary, Sharjah film platform. She worked as an artistic advisor, co-writer and producer for the film "Chasing the Dazzling Light” which got the Best First Feature Documentary at IDFA 2023.

Rima is also an architect who holds a master's degree in architecture from KTH, which intersects with her artistic creativity in creating space and place in her animation films. Her latest short animation film "Long Take - 2023" premiered at the 42nd edition of the Uppsala Short Film Festival in the National Competition section and received a nomination for the Early Bird Uppsala award.

Currently, Rima is working on a short docufantasy animation film "Goodbye Lapis Lazuli”.
