Biography
I am Rima, a dynamic architect and artist with a passion for bringing ideas to life. Born and raised in Syria, my love for both art and architecture began at a young age. I graduated from Aleppo University with a degree in Architectural Engineering and have since pursued diverse projects in architecture, interior design, and archeology in various countries including Syria, Lebanon, and Sweden.
Driven by my interest in sustainable community planning and urban design, I continued my education at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, where I obtained a master's degree. However, my creativity does not stop there. I have also ventured into the world of filmmaking, animation, and photography, where I have honed my presentation and storytelling skills. My passion for visual storytelling blossomed while collaborating with my partner on two notable films. Our first project, "On the Edge of Life - 2017," received recognition as the Best First Film at the Cinema du Reel festival. Subsequently, "I Have Seen Nothing, I Have Seen All - 2019," earned the honor of being an official selection at the Vision du Reel festival.
In addition to my filmmaking experience, I directed and animated a short 2D film titled "Long Take" which had its premiere at the Uppsala Short Film Festival. Currently, I am actively engaged in the production of an animation film titled "Goodbye Lapis Lazuli" showcasing my ongoing dedication to the art of storytelling through various visual mediums.
Overall, I am a creative polymath who finds inspiration in every aspect of life. My curiosity and passion for exploring new ideas and mediums allow me to bring fresh perspectives to every project I undertake.
